Photography Day Out!!
In the last week or so (don't ask me when, it’s all blurring together time moves so fast!) my good friend Nellie and her daughter Raven, who both just happen to be the arty photography types, and I headed out on one of the sunniest days we’ve had over here in the Isle of Man for a while so they could take some lovely pictures of my work for me! I had the easy job- I was just chauffeuring them to where they thought they could get the best pictures, generally getting in the way

The concept of ‘Success’
I think success is odd concept for a small business because how, when you work by yourself in a unique business, can you gauge how well you are doing in your market place? I have been selling my work for about 3ish years now and, to begin with, it was really hard to build up my customer base, stockists and so forth and some days I really did miss the reliable income of my old office job work! The piece of jewellery is called ‘The Pagan Lady’s Necklace’ and it is currently on display at the Manx Museum in Douglas. I

My ‘Studio’ a word that I am using in the loosest term….
So for this post I am going to give you a quick guided tour of my ‘studio’. Calling where I work a studio is misleading as I don’t just have one place where I work, plus, the word ‘studio’ brings to mind a beautiful, creative space and I’m not sure that where I am currently working could be defined using any of those words! I work entirely from home for a couple of reasons – I can’t justify the expense of renting somewhere at the moment. My kiln is massive and would be a nigh

Well hello there everyone…
So here we go, finally after about a year and a half of me threatening to start a blog I have written my first post… Writing doesn’t come naturally to me as I am awesomely Dyslexic, but I have some wonderful people who will be doing a bit of proofing for me! (They don’t actually know it yet…aren’t they lucky!!!) To start off let me tell you a bit about myself to get us going and how I ended up running my small creative business.
